Phillipp Lenssen from Google Blogoscoped has posted a false press release ‘Google Acquires Internet (May 2017)‘. As the name suggests this is in view with the recent acquisitions that Google has been making to spread its reach to almost all aspects of the Internet world.
The recent Google’s DoubleClick speculation and final acquisition has bagged the attention of worldwide Internet enthusiasts. Phillipp has intelligently used Google’s webcast to compile this fake press release. During the webcast CEO, Eric Schmidt, Sergey Brin, Larry Page and some other Google Execs and the CEO of Doubleclick “answered” answered the free press.
The press release by Phillipp states that Google has purchased the Internet $2,455.5 billion in cash. The real humorous comes in the next paragraph when Larry Page is saying that Google does not believe in acquiring Internet in bits and pieces. The series of acquisition as explained in the fake press release includes AOL and Microsoft. How come Phillipp forgot Yahoo!? I though the same. Next he stated, “Eric Schmidt announced immediate plans to redirect Yahoo.com to Google’s own search engine.” so that clears the doubts.
This is actually a good work of creativity.
