Google has added new integration options to Google+ Sign-in. They have forged partnership with social login providers JanRain and Gigya bringing Google+ sign-ins to thousands of new sites.
Developers will now be able to add trusted authentication to their apps and websites, enabling instant download of Android app by the users. The mechanism will enable users customize their app experience using Google+ profile info and share interactive posts with friends.
About 400,000 sites use Janrain to provide social logins, while 600,000 sites are deployed across Gigya‘s 650 premium clients. They can now use the features that come with Google+ Sign-in.
For webmasters, the new feature means that they can now drill more information about the users. The regular Google login isn’t associated with a social network so there was limit to the information available. Comparatively, they could get more info about their users from Facebook and Twitter.
Google had introduced Google+ Sign-in in February to counter Facebook Connect and the Open Graph. Their partnership with Janrain and Gigya is another step on the same line.
For integration, you just need to visit Janrain's and Gigya's getting started guides. Some of the Janrain clients that have already begun Google+ Sign-in integration are NPR, ladygaga.com, justinbiebermusic.com, imaginedragonsmusic.com, interscope.com, eminem.com and HSN. Gigya clients who have taken the lead in this regard are American Idol and Food Network UK.
