Voice search is bringing about a sea change in the way in which people interact with search engines and digital devices. In recent years, consumers have started using digital voice assistants like Google Assistant and Apple Siri. Studies have shown that at present, 77% of Americans have a smartphone and 72% of consumers are aware of the voice assistants which they have used at least once. Voice assistant adoption is highest among youngsters, households with children and families with income above $100K.
People prefer using voice assistants to search for answers to their queries. At present, more than 20% of searches made on Google are through voice. By 2020, 30% of all searches will be done without the use of a screen. But business owners need to know that there is a distinction between voice and text-based search.
