Google’s Danny Sullivan affirmed that an algorithm update had taken this place last week. He stated-

“Our core algorithm is updated all the time. For major updates, we’ll continue to share about those on @searchliaison, as we have been. We haven’t had a major update of that nature, but we did have a smaller one this week.”

Sullivan mentioned that this was a “smaller” algorithm update. But it is big enough to draw the attention of SEOs. Many within the SEO industry have stated that this update has brought about a marked difference in website traffic. Webmasters and website owners are witnessing considerable rise and fall in traffic. The most common theme at present is that websites which were badly affected by the August core algorithm update are now recovering. There is no common theme related to niches which the sites are related to.

Google’s John Mueller lately offered some suggestions for webmasters who want to recover from August core algorithm update. To do so, Mueller advised that it could take Google many months for processing the suggested website changes. The August core algorithm update was done less than two months ago. So this could be a consolation for those who are waiting for the changes to be visible in Google’s search results.
